Same here. They wanted me to download a legit Share program but they told me they were from Microsoft and needed to get into my computer because of a System warning. I refused. They asked why and I said I have no idea who you are and I would be crazy to let you into my system. They said again they were working for Microsoft. I again refused and they hung up without another word.

Called to say that my computer has a severe virus and is sending out information said it needed to be checked immediately. Accent was not native to USA.

Definitely a SCAM. Don't do anything they ask you to do. You will be sorry. Hang up the phone. Go to Microsoft Security online to learn more about these scams.
