My boyfriend has received over 30 calls from them in the past two weeks. Each time they call he answers but there is never anyone there. If he doesn't answer nobody leaves a message. I finally called the number back and listened to a pre-recorded message loop for an hour before it hung up!! I found another number for them and, after giving them my phone number, was told that the account was clear!! Nevertheless my boyfriend is still getting calls. The last one was yesterday evening--the caller was looking for someone named James. Too bad my boyfriend's name is Robert!! I am going to send these idiots a debt validation letter and let them scramble to find the 'debt' I owe them!!

This bottom-feeder, Allied Interstate, is a third or fourth level collection agency at:

(561) 671-2121, (800) 955-3103, Fax: (561) 671-6040. They buy-up old collection records and try to collect on them. Since the accuracy of such records is always questionable, they often call looking for people you've never heard of. They will threaten you, cuss and swear at you and call you at all hours of the day and night. A company like it was featured on 20/20 awhile back. The only people who are lower than these are the 419 Nigerian scam people. The caller ID number is routed through several different exchanges through different states. Calling the company number gets you nowhere, as they won't fess-up to being financial sucker-fish. Someone should speak to them manually as electronic communication is completely ignored.

These people call all the time for someone who had the phone number before me. They wake me up, they interrupt other calls. I'm thinking of getting rid of my landline because of them.
What can we do?
I understand the advice if you have debt and they have your name, but in my case, they are calling for someone who has this same phone number before me (some woman) and I don't even know who she is.
I hate landlines. The only reason I have one is because I need it for the doorbell

Have received several calls from this number over the past month but never answered because I didn't recognize the number or ID.
Finally got pissed the other day and answered.
The caller asked for an ex-brother-in-law (divorced sister 10 yrs ago! And I don't talk to the sister either!) How they got my number is a mystery. Told them I didn't know the person they were looking for and they better stop calling me or I'd report them to the FL Dept of Ag who handles repeat marketing calls. Caller said they would take me off their list.....it's been 4 days....we'll see.....

Phone call came in @ 9;30 pm eastern pa, time,,, we get up early ,, so this is annoying ,, when we pick'd up the phone , it was quiet, no one there ,, and a few seconds later i hear a faint voice ask'd what our phone number was and then asked if we had caller id,, strange ,, i jus told them that it was late ,, and besides we dont owe them i cant see why they are calling ,, It is a scam to get money ,,they are working off of a commission,, Evan if you don't owe ,, they will try an get money ,, they;r not of English descent ,, another illegal trying to scam Americans for there money ,, don't fall for this ,,scam...

They call me daily, every day, twice a day. All I get is a recording telling me to call them back regarding "a debt". I call back to clear this up and there is nobody on the line. I have debts but I have NOTHING in arrears, past due or whatever. I called their number 1-800-833-5313 three times to ask they please stop calling me and they got rude and nasty saying there was nothing they could do to removed my name from the computer and one even said he "doesn't care that I am annoyed or getting upset over this." He was awful! Somebody put my name and number into that computer and somebody should be able to remove it. Please help me as I'm at my wits end with these phonecalls everyday. Thank you.

I just did. The fcc complaint site is a bit time consuming to file, but let's hope it works. If enough people file complaints, maybe the FCC will do something about this company.
If you do happen to get repeated calls from them and get a live caller, tell them that you have reported them to the FCC, then hang up.
