Go to the BBB website and see the hundreds of complaints. If you really owe the debt , deal with the original creditor only not Allied Interstate.

The company is Allied Interstate based out of Minnesota. They are a collection agency and in 2010 were hit with a $1.75 million fine from the FTC for trying to collect debts from the wrong people. For the details go to: http://www.dailyfinance.com/2010/10/26/feds-fine-debt-collector-allied-interstate-for-repeat-violations/ When our government finally reopens I suggest you file a phone or online complaint with the FTC. Alternatively, you can email Allied at:
http://www.allied-interstate.com/about-us/contact-us/contact-us~form.aspx. They actually have a check off box for "I am the wrong person, please stop calling me". Or you can call them at (800) 811-4214. I emailed Allied advising them to "cease and desist" from further harassment and checked the box for "I am the wrong person". Time will tell if they comply with my email.

This number calls me up to seven times a day, and sometimes starts calling before 8 AM. I have a new cell phone, and unlisted number, but they keep calling. I do not know the person they are looking for.

Allied Interstate is using different telephone numbers to try to get me to answer. I get 6 calls a day from this company. I have contacted The Federal Trade Commission. They told me to write a letter. Once I receive my receipt back from them they are to stop calling. Otherwise I contact them again. I have also filed a complaint with The Attorney Generals office in Sacramento CA. Consumer Protection.

Debt Collectors – Collection Agency's are not under DNC registry.

Fed. Law says you have NO obligation to Collection Agencies-Debt Collectors; if you send them a written letter they can’t contact you ever. Only Lawyer’s that can sue you, have to be in your home state. Some Law Firms do have Firms in other states, so you have to ck before sending a Cease & Desist letter to make sure they aren't in your home state.

The law, Fair Debt Collector Practices Act. @ FTC.gov. Most collection agencies, buy a past due debt for pennies per dollar. You don't have any agreement/contract with a debt collector or collection agency. Your only contract is with the original creditor.

Do NOT agree to any payments or you'll be creating an agreement/contract, where upon initial contact by the Debt Collector, one didn't exist.

They lie, & will tell you whatever they need, in order to get you to agree to paythem. The lies are illegal, & they're probably on commission for what they collect.

Don’t ever give out any personal information. Tell them to send you a written statement & you'll respond. Then hang up. When you get that statement send the letter I’ve enclosed that I use. Sign & mail that letter Certified Mail, so you have a confirmation of delivery!!!

Called 2 times today (2/19/10) on my cell phone asking for my son, who hasn't lived with me in 7 years. A google search turned up mire hits for scams than a ligit business. As with other comments, callers (one male/one female)had heavy foreign accents. Told them they had the wrong number and asked who they were with and why they were looking for him on this number. They asked me to confirm his address. I told them "I" did not live at the address given. After asking a number of times, they finally said they were with Allied Interstate, but refused to divulge why they were calling my number. Only that it was a "personal business matter". After I harassed them some more, they said they would remove my number from their list. We'll see.... I'm forwarding their number to my son so he can ignore their calls if they ever get the correct number.

Rec'd call from Allied Interstate from 866-898-3991 December 2, 2009 @ 3:59PM MST. They were looking for an old roommate that my husband and I lived with over 7 years ago in a different state.

I spoke to a supervisor who once again assured me that she would have my number removed from this person's account and I would not get called again. She gave me her direct line which she asked me not to post. I will respect that but I did ask that she look at 800notes when she gets home so she can see that I'm not the only one that they are harrassing.
I thought I had had this resolved over a year ago when they called several times looking for the same roommate and after several phone calls they finally assured me that the number was being removed and they would not call again.

The last calls that I received from these people were from 775-319-1506 a year ago on:
Dec 12th, 2008 @ 11:37AM MST, 1:47PM MST, and 1:49PM MST
Dec 14th, 2008 @ 11:37AM MST
and
Dec 17th, 2008 @ 1:39PM MST
Here is my previous documentation of the calls: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-775-319-1506/3#p0XS9Jgd8TwA05AjMQb0tmg

They have been calling me for 2 years for an Angelica (not me). I've told them this is not her number. They promised to delete my number...117 calls ago.

I asked for their address and gave me a PO BOX in New York. She stated she was calling from India...which pissed me off even more.

I can't understand them 90% of the time and cough up an attitude.

I verified that PO BOX, flew to NYC and followed the person who picked up the mail. I recorded the address and spoke to the chairman of the company-warning them to stop harrassing me or I will not only file a complaint but a law suit.

The next day, I had my attorney write a letter to them. Since that day, no more calls.

Take that Allied!!!!

Another wonderful way to deal with call centers is to ID an incoming call and program those calls to be forwarded to the number calling, or another call center. The FCC is also another alternative. Programmed calles can have the originating callers number included in the forwarded call.

This is a debt collection agency. They must get phone numbers from the phone book, because they keep calling me for people with my last name, but different first names. If you are getting these calls, please report them to the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC can only take action if they get enough complaints against the same company. Report at www.ftc.gov
