Debt Collectors – Collection Agency's are not under DNC registry.

Fed. Law says you have NO obligation to Collection Agencies-Debt Collectors; if you send them a written letter they can’t contact you ever. Only Lawyer’s that can sue you, have to be in your home state. Some Law Firms do have Firms in other states, so you have to ck before sending a Cease & Desist letter to make sure they aren't in your home state.

The law, Fair Debt Collector Practices Act. @ FTC.gov. Most collection agencies, buy a past due debt for pennies per dollar. You don't have any agreement/contract with a debt collector or collection agency. Your only contract is with the original creditor.

Do NOT agree to any payments or you'll be creating an agreement/contract, where upon initial contact by the Debt Collector, one didn't exist.

They lie, & will tell you whatever they need, in order to get you to agree to paythem. The lies are illegal, & they're probably on commission for what they collect.

Don’t ever give out any personal information. Tell them to send you a written statement & you'll respond. Then hang up. When you get that statement send the letter I’ve enclosed that I use. Sign & mail that letter Certified Mail, so you have a confirmation of delivery!!!

I am not an attorney, I’ve spent the past 2 yrs studying various Federal Consumer Protection Laws. I’ve learned on my own through reading. I have fought 2 lawsuits without an Attorney. I’ve not had any legal experience, whatsoever. If you have questions, seek the advice of an Attorney.

Mortgages & Car Payment loans prob. do not apply here; you need to seek the advice of a Lawyer.

This bill collector uses different numbers. Kept asking me about the whereabouts of a relative I haven't seen since 2006. When they call and voice mail picks up, they never bother to leave a message. It's irritating.
