Received call 4/1/15 - April fool joke -- don't think so - it's a spam --The female caller identify from the IRS - and it was important to return call asap. ---- I did not return the call. Don't believe the IRS would fanatically call me. USPS is the norm. I should know, I've spoken to the IRS on numerous occasions. Hope this helps

we received a call from this number with a subject claiming to be with the IRS and that criminal charges were pending. When I returned the call, they said there were discrepancies with our returns for the last seven years and and that the IRS wasn't interested in the money. He said they would write off the money and are opting to pursue criminal charges against me and my wife. When I what jurisdiction it would be filed he couldn't answer. When I asked about due process he said there delivery of the notification was attempted twice but no one was there. When I pressed again about documentation, he said a local deputy would arrest me in 20 minutes. I told him he sounded like a fraud and he hung up.

Answering machine caught only last half of the call. Claimed to be IRS and something about criminal charges. Definitely a recording, not a live person, obviously a scam.
