Same call as reported by others, left as a message. Incredibly amateurish. No formal introduction by name, referred to "Internal Revenue Services", and an area code in Manhattan - pretty much what you get from 14-year-old middle schoolers or foreign callers who know nothing about the IRS.

I received a voicemail from a robot stating that I am being sued by the IRS. I called the number back and a person picked up. It sounded like a call center and everyone on the phones in the background were Indian (from India). I asked if this was a scam and they hung up on me. I called back and they said that they made a mistake and said to disregard the call.

Also received same call this morning saying I was being sued by IRS. This was on news earlier this week. IRS will never call you. If you are being sued, you will get a letter in snail mail. Don't call back, it is a scam to get your info.

Having just satisfied my Offer In Compromise with a letter from the IRS stating I had satisfied the contract, this call stating that there is a lawsuit against me got me really upset. I'm fairly relieved that others, in this time frame as well, have received the same call.

Called back, noisy call center and guy with heavy Asian accent answered. He asked why I was calling, I told him about the automated message I received. He asked why I was laughing, I told him because I know it's fake and to never call me again. He hung up. They don't notify you of lawsuits via automated message, they use certified mail.
