Called my office in Arizona and identified himself as a rep for the State of Arizona Business Development Office, upon my questioning who he was with he specifically said he was with the Arizona State Government. Asked if we were in a new office already, I said yes (no secret there, we are all over the internet for our biz). Irked me that he lied about working for our AZ state government. I will report the call to the AZ State authorities, probably nothing will be done. I think it was a offshore operation, guy sounded like English was a second language for him.

When I returned the call the heavily accented speaker started trying to elicit information from me. The original caller was unintelligible while leaving parts of the message so I would have had to guess what the numbers on the "policy" were. Returned the call - then they asked me to search my systems for the person's name,(John MacIntire) which was clearly stated but not spelled in the original message.

Got the same call - from Danny Archer at Dept of Legal Affairs with the US Treasury stating there was "an enforcement action started in your name." He called from (547) 559-0000 but told me to call him back at (202) 821-1155. He was obviously reading a script and had an accent. Totally a scam!

I’ve received a call for the 3rd time on my house line from 307-243-5143 in about a week’s time. Alex once again, which he doesn’t speak clear English, stating that he worked for Windows Microsoft and one of my computers has been compromised. I asked him again who he worked for and he stated "We are a 3rd party vendor of Microsoft". He then asked me to perform a search on Teamviewer in Google and wanted me to download this software. At that point I hung up on him.
When I was resistant to him and questioning him, he got very uptight and slightly nasty. This is a scam and if one was to download the software and allow him to enter your computer/laptop, he'd be on his way of stripping off all of your information or inserting a virus to steal all of your valuable data. Don't fall victim, be aware!

Received a message on our machine asking for my husband. Caller had an Indian accent and called himself Leonard James and said he was calling from the Dept. of Legal Affairs US Treasury and wanted us or our attorney call him back or we would be in legal trouble with our taxes. Knowing we were current with our taxes, I researched the web for scams. I found many different websites with people having had the same experience. Also found out that sometimes these parasites even know the last four digits of your social security number. You can visit the government website http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtmlIRS and fill out the Impersonation Scam Reporting form if you want to report it. According to an article I found, http://www.ktvn.com/story/27788780/irs-watch-out-for-tax-scams, they have apparently been investigating this scam since at least 2013.

Phone number is 202-821-1155 and 0055. Washington number so seemed like they got their numbers right anyway :)
