Called three times in a row stating I had to call immediately or I would be arrested for failure to repay a payday loan from United Cash Advance. Told him I'd never had any business with United Cash Advance and he wanted to know how I could prove that. Told him my bank records would support what I was saying. I did not give him any information. The number he used was 3472987944. He gave a name associated with Latin or Spanish but had a middle eastern accent.
I reported this call to the Police, FBI, FTC, and Consumer Protection. If you receive a call like this, DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION - IT'S A SCAM.

This guy who can barely speak our language called to say that he wanted to speak to me about a matter and on the answering machine says that if I don't call him back that I will be in trouble I have no clue who he is with and can barely understand this much. If you cannot speak our language then don't call me as I can't understand you and why you are threatening me.

In neither cases, do these companies state they have a relationship with American Legal Services.
In my case, I contacted my local Sheriff's office, and gave them the phone number and recordings. The main reason behind this is because they threatened my kids (good luck to your kids, was the ending message they sent me).
The police recommend you just block their numbers and ignore them. This is a true scam.

Contiues to call my employer and harass them as well as me. Constantly calls my cell phone. Calls my family members and harasses them. I called the number back and was threatened with lawsuits and jail time. When I started to ask questions the person on the phone threatened to send paperwork to my employer that would result in my being fired with 4 to 5 days. He kept saying that I had to pay money and that I should give him my credit card info to clear the matter up........He saked if I really wanted this to go to trial and I stated yes, then said I would provide my attorneys contact info, he proceeded to yell at me and then hung up on me........

They call every 10 to 15 minutes; at least 8 to 10 times a day. Say I owe them money from a payday loan. Asked for date of transaction and told them I had to check with my bank. Called bank and they told me it was a scam and I had no deposit of $300 made to my account during the timeframe they are claiming. Bank told me not to answer Unknown Name-Unknown Caller. I tried to block this call, but was unable to do so. HELP!

He has called my friends hareasing them. Saying I owe money from a ash advance and they are pressing charges for fraud, ect. This is a scam but conts to call and calls my job. Atty general in my state has been notified along with FBI.

Received call from scam artist trying to extort cash for an alleged unpaid debt. When asked for correspondence to determine the validity of the debt was threatened to be taken to jail. Said that the case was being "downloaded" and that I would be arrested. Also asked for address and was hung up on. Stated that I did not need this information. Need to know who this is.

After recieving another phone call from these jokers, I filed a complaint with the BBB for American Legal Services. The address I used was 2214 Mira Vista, Montrose, CA 91020 phone number 626 768 2536. This address and phone number were not in the BBB database, so I added it. I encourage you all file a complaint. There more there are of us, the more they will have to listen.

recieved several calls/voicemails from this person over a two hour period.
Person claims he represents American legal services and wants to settle out of court for an undisclosed amount of money.
These scammers really don't know the laws rgarding collection.
Number has ben reported to FBI as well
