It's Asset Acceptance, one of the worst. Don't talk to this trash because you'll get nowhere.

There is some question whether they might be scam artists. Therefore it really is in your best interest to have NO communication with them whatsoever. Even letting them for sure whether the person they are seeking lives at the phone number called can be extremely dangerous if they are scam artists.

Don't answer, don't talk to them. You are under no legal obligation whatsoever to do so.

In order to protect my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I sent AACC a letter:

Rion B. Needs, CEO
Asset Acceptance LLC
PO Box 2036
Warren, MI 48090

Mr. Needs:

At 6:53 p.m. EDT on April 15, 2009, one of your call centers (Caller ID: 804-234-9057, AACC) dialed my home phone (xxx-xxx-xxxx) and left a pre-recorded voicemail message for someone whom I don’t even know. To your credit, the message identified your company as a debt collection agency. My research on the Internet indicates that you are the CEO of Asset Acceptance Capital Corp.

You people need to do a better job in skip tracing because you are using very old information. I have had my phone since November 2004. If you do a reverse lookup on the Internet, you would see that the number belongs to me. Do yourself a favor: Do not sell the debt with my phone number because it may come back to haunt you.

I am not the person you are looking for. I have excellent credit, and I do not have any delinquent debts. Thus, you have no business with me. STOP calling my phone. If you persist, you will be violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. In addition, by using an automatic dialer and leaving me a pre-recorded message without my prior consent, you have already violated Title 47, United States Code, Section 227.

Yours truly,
(my name)

An automated dialer is being used by this collection agency and it annoys me every time I get a call. I already sent them a letter saying I'm not the person they're looking for. Hope they see this and pay attention to the letters they receive because their phone calls are such a big disturbance.

Attempted to collect some debt I don't recognize. I told them to send me the paperwork so we can work it out. Let's see what happens.

I have been dealing with this company, for several months, and they continue to Insist that I am the prior owner of this number.
They have Assured me, approximately 1/2-dozen times, that my number would be removed from their database.
Can someone who is even More angry than I, and who also has violent tendencies, unlike myself[a rather gentle person], Please pay a physical visit to AACC, and convey to them, in any way you feel is appropriate, that Debt Collectors deserve Everything they bring upon themselves?
Thank You

We've received many recorded messages from this debt collection company looking for a person we've never heard of, and we've had our number for 3.5 years. The message always states that by listening to the message I verify that I am indeed that person. The person being sought after is to call Amy Taylor at a 1-800 number that does not go through. Today is the 3rd time I have called to tell them to stop calling. ("Amy Taylor" has never been available.) Previously they said OK. Today they said the person must keep giving our number to them, and basically, too bad for you, we're going to keep calling!
