I received a call from 716-372-8969. They said that they were from AT&T and that I have a virus on my computer. They tried to get information from me and said that they would remove it. The person talked with a strong accent and tried to convince me that I had a virus. I told him that I wasn't having computer problems and hung up the phone. I also blocked the number. Then I started receiving calls from "Unknown Numbers" I also blocked those calls. I later got a call from 254-784-5226. Again it was a person with a strong accent who said that he was calling from AT&T. He tried to convince me that I had a computer virus. I hung up and blocked that number too. I should note that the person on the other end of the call did know my name when they called. I contacted AT&T and they didn't know anything about the calls.

05/21/2014, approx 6:12 pm, Suspect calling from that number stated he was with AT&T and their service could reduce the phone bill by 30%. When caller requested personal information from complainant, she refused to give the caller any identifying information. The caller demanded to speak to a manager, the complainant stated she was the manager and would not give him the information requested. This enraged the caller and he threatened to send her a bomb in the mail, then hung up. A police report was made.

This is really awful. My life partner died there after having to watch him go through a long fight for his life. The number first started showing up on my cell phone. Very odd. Called my biz line which forwarded to my cell. Stated that I would be getting a rate reduction to $67, which is considerably higher than I pay. Confused, she said that I was already getting lowest rate, nevermind. Called number back. Woman with accent apologized and said that it was a residence and someone was making prank calls using their number. I looked up number, saw info abt Church, and called back, saying I was returning a phone call from the Church. "OK who do you want to speak with? Let me look you up. Are you a Scientologist?" At which point someone in the background said "shut up!" and I said nevermind and hung up.
