Essentially it is an IRS/Treasury scam. It is an auto dial that says (paraphrased) "This is Dennis Gray calling regarding the enforcement of action from the US Treasury Department. This is our 2nd attempt to contact you. You will need to appear before a judge and magistrate regarding a federal criminal offense. This is our final attempt and avoiding this will be considered a criminal offense. You need to contact a federal agent at 315-207-5212 to get your case number and resolve this immediately"

It was a recorded message implying that I should cooperate with the Federal Government income taxes. When I called the number, a gentleman named David Williams. He sounded like he was from India, which strikes me odd with a name like Williams. His # was 10428.

I have been receiving this message on my voice mail for the past 3 weeks. Tried calling number back I only get busy signal.

It's a stretch, but a couple of hours prior to receiving the Dennis Quaid/Grey/Gray call,, I got one of those "I'm calling from Windows Computer.." scam calls. I told them they were breaking the law (again - mut be the 12 time they called me in the last 2 years). Strong Indian accent.
Possibly the same outfit?
I started getting those calls not long after some horrible customer service from Dell when I lost it after being given a couple of hours or run-around at Dell's Indian call center. Probably just coincidence but....

I called this number and I talked to a lady (linda Watson (not sure exactly)) with a strong foreign accent who pretend that I didn't pay some tax in 2011. She was upset when I told her that I have a tax adviser. According her,I received an mail and she can prove it. I asked her to send me some proof, a copy, anything but she declined. So I stop to talk to her. This is a scam!!

...works for the federal Government (ha), enforcing an action initiated by the U.S. Treasury. Says it is a second attempt (there was no first, but I've had two identical second attempts, one hour apart) and if I don't call him back, it will be a federal offense. Golly.
Of course, he never used my name. I'm tempted to call him back using a free internet phone so he has no way of learning any real number of mine. I'll see how long I can tweak him before he hangs up on me. That would do absolutely no good, but it would feel good.
