I made the mistake of answering once and very nicely declining. This man calls every single day, sometimes from a number with "I" on the caller ID. I never answer. But this is so annoying.

Received a call from 703-372-0808 from "FOP of Virginia" to donate (non tax deductible) to the Fraternal Order of Police. They were pleasant enough but insistent, I asked them to send a mail request... they had my name and address... and they agreed to send it. I have also seen other posts saying that they might be for-profit solicitors that take some/most of the money before it goes to the FOP... which makes sense since I think the FOP maintains a 503c charity which should be deductible. Most posts recommend sending directly to your local FOP post. HTH
