called saying that a courier in my area would be delivering papers to my last known address , said they would contact he last place i had a payroll with my soc sec number and that not contacting them could affect my bank account...
THIS IS NOT TRUE....
what i think this is (due to previous encounters with a similar company a couple of years ago)is a company that buys old, outdated debts, ones that no longer affect your credit. Do not contact them, if they are able to get you to reactivate the account owed and you are unable to pay it for some reason then you are again responsible for the debt again and it can then affect your credit...If you do not contact them or reactivate it again you wont be responsible for the old debt.

They called my home on 4/15 and left msg saying from dept of legal affairs and to call immediately regarding an important legal matter. I called and they said they were collecting a IRS debt. Had my address and phone number. Started asking for more info and I said I wasn't going to provide any additional info to them. Said they would settle for $2,000. I do owe back taxes but had worked out a deferment with the IRS due to being unemployed. They said they would transfer me to the department that could take my payment. I said this sounded like a scam and the guy said there would be someone at my door within 2 hours to arrest me and this was a non bondable arrest. I was freaking out until, thank God, I saw the posts regarding this on the internet. Thank goodness for sites like this!

They call and I tell them to quit calling. they say they are from the fraud devision and If I dont make aggangments on this debt they will turn it over to the local authorities. I tell them to stop calling and hang up.
