I got the EXACT (I mean, to the letter verbatim) message left for me in my answering machine yesterday from "Jeff Thomas." The morons can't even come up with varied scripts as they probably just read what's on the paper in front of them. I heard a lot of chatter in the background on the message....a whole bank of Indian goons (that was the accent as others have noted) must be hard at work trying to get a bite. Just ignore, or if they keep calling back, call your state's AG's office with the complaint and the phone number.

Hi I got the exact same voice message from that Jeff Thomas from the same phone number (34770707629). After we listened to the message, we searched for the key words and the phone number in the Internet and we've found a LOT of reports on these scammers. I'm not even planning on calling back, do not waster your time. I hope these f***ers get caught and put in jail.

I got the exact same call yesterday. Also from "Annie Johnson" and using the same call number (347-650-2160). Knew it had to be a scam. I agree with those who say the callers must use a script. Especialy since they all have the same gramatical errors in their "speech". Would be comical if it weren't so sad how often they are successful.

Got the call yesterday from Annie Johnson. Same BS about this is Dept of Legal Affairs, call me back. Beauty part is that the person she was looking for doesn't reside here. It is definitely a scam. Number to call is 347-650-2160. Just want to give all a heads up!!! Thank you all for posting your comments. Saves me much grief.

I just got the same message on 11/17/15 at 11:23am. I have Vonage so I get an email with the text of the voice message:
"This message is intended for Denise [last name]. Denise this is Jeff Thomas with the department of legal affairs and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important issue. This is a verbal notification for you in regards to the enforcement action that has been started on your name. My number is 347-707-7629. I repeat that is 3477077629 if for any reason you are too busy to call back. I would suggest you do you have your retained attorney to do it for you as delaying calling is might end up into a legal mess for you. I hope you would take this right and call me right back. This is Jeff Thomas with the department of legal affairs. Looking forward to speak to you until then have a blessed day. Good-bye"
It sounds like a computer generated voice with a heavy accent just like others noted.

I just received this same message on my voice mail and the scammer name was Mark Johnson with a very heavy foreign accent. He sounded like he was talking into a mike and would turn it off and on as he spoke like it was a message he was reading from. What gave it away was the way he ended his call and said I look forward to hearing from you, God Bless. Ok so when does the government say that.

I also received this message. This guy also had a very thick accent. His name was "Mike Carter" ( sure it was). Telephone number 347-539-4266.

Same message from "Jeff Thomas"_American name but thick accent..said I should call him at 347-408-0225...something abt the "actions started against me by Hablins?? Or course accent so thick an accent,,,he could of said anything. "It could be very bad for me" ,,, glad to hear other folks getting the SCAM warning out there!!!!!

Got the same message from a Jeff Thomas stating he was from the Department of treasury legal affairs wanted my daughter to call him and she hasn't lived here for years and he didn't even have her correct name this is totally a scam.

Caller ID showed up as "Anna Sanchez" with this number. My wife ignored it because we've been getting a lot of soliciting calls. A man with a heavy foreign accent started to leave a message asking for me by name. She picked it up and he stated he was "Jeff Thomas" with the Department of Legal Affairs with the US Treasury and that it was very important that I call him back immediately at this number because I was in trouble. He hasn't called back again, yet.

Left voicemail identifying himself as Jeff Thomas from legal affairs dept. and to call him back. I thought it was weird because I am not involved in any legal actions, I do not own anything, and he called my mother's house phone. I know that anything having to pertain legal matters would usually come in the mail, maybe even certified mail so I decided to do a search for the number he left. After finding his number was linked to scams I will not be returning his call.

Got a call from a woman with a strong indian accent this morning saying pretty much exactly the same as mentioned in these threads. The first call came from an unknown number and after listening to the initial bla bla bla I just hung up. The same woman called back immidiately asking why I hung up on her, this time the call came from 202-370-7167 (checked after the call). I said I didn't want to talk to her since this is bogus and she told me to call the case officer 9or something like that) Jason Dean at 202-370-7167 right away I realized later that this was the same number she was calling from.
