I had received a letter from the Illinois Department of Revenue stating that I owed $80.37. I made the payment via my credit card. Then later on I received several calls from Robert with the United States Treasury Internal Revenue Service stating that I made the payment to the wrong place. Robert's telephone number is (801) 605-1816. I believe this is a scam due to the fact that I reviewed numerous post on the website. Can someone assist me.

Received call from "Robert" who said I had won a sweepstakes that I had signed up for at a local mall (which I don't remember doing). He went on to say I had won a 4 night stay at Bluegreen Resorts. I had signed up for Branson (which I knew I had not because I have NO desire to go to Branson). And also a cruise to the Caribbean. After 10 minutes he finally asked me to pay $198 reservation fee to hold this "prize". I informed him I do got give my credit card number to someone who has called me and if I had "won" something I should have received it free of charge.

The original caller is a middle-man company for a collection agency. The middle man company can break any law they want because they aren't actually the collection agency. This middle man can call you at any time, they can threaten, they can call people collection agencies can't call (like neighbors, friends, family) and discuss your debt with them. When you call the number 855-258-3652, it redirects you to the actual collections agency.
If the debt is real, I cannot honor it because the collections company is skirting the law by hiring this middle man/company to do the illegal dirty work. The middle man company hides its phone number, so I'm guessing it will be difficult to track down who they really are. The ultimate debt collector in my case was Regency Collection Agency. I have received nothing in the mail, and there is no validation of this supposed debt. I am unaware of owing anyone money at this point, so without written validation of this debt they will simply have to keep trying to scam me.
Whether this is purely a scam or just a sleazy new way to collect real debt we may never know. Be careful everyone!

I had a "Robert Cruz" contact me wanting to book hair services. No one ever contacts me without being referred. So when I asked how he was referred he mentioned he read about me on Facebook and was only able to communicate through text and email as he was hearing impaired. I quickly googled his number and stumbled upon on all your responses.
I asked him if the names he was about to give me were " Sherry Cruz, Jane Sutton, Ella Hawthorne, and mary Alex" (Like i read in another response) and told him better luck with someone else because he wasn't going to pull that shit on me and to go fuck himself.
He hasn't responded :)

Called me and told me they were in process of suing me over bill I owed. Then he gave me the last 4 of my social security and also the last 4 of my bank account. I told him to check his caller ID (I called him back) and he would see the caller ID was to the law office I work at, and if he wanted to sue me - be my guest, and come play in my yard!! He then promptly hung up. I then called my bank and put a watch out on my account. Would love to see them get busted!
