ThThey claimed to be with IRS Audit with a case number saying I didn't respond to an audit request in June and they said I signed a delivery of an affidavit. They told me my assets were being frozen, house would be seized, passport blocked, I would be arrested if I didn't resolve I pushed back... because I wasn't actually home that day they quoted I signed for the affidavit. I demanded they send me the information, until I knew more of details I was deciding how I was going to resolve. they were pretty convincing at first. They had my name and address. After I hung up the phone and they told me they would send the information. I thought more about it, and called the operator to see if the number actually belonged to the IRS. IT Doesn't (210-485-5143). I called the police as well. I normally don't fall even a bit for these but this one was convincing... I didn't give any financial information but... feel really violated on this one.

I just got this exact call at work. It was more convincing than others, but when he said I would be arrested within 24 hours, I knew it was a scam. It's sad, because I could totally see an elderly person falling for this :(
