> We are wasting out time posting on this forum!!!!!!!! Nothing will happen just like listing your number on the Do-Not-Call list, N-O-T-H-I-N-G happens!!! Who knows what their real number is as they are usually calling from a fake (SPOOF) number.... I get calls all the time from new numbers as the old ones I block on my phone. Just hang up or when the want your credit card number tell then to hold on while you get it, sure. My view...
> Here is how they do it, Just Google search "How to SPOOF a caller I.D. number"

The call was a prerecorded message to pay off credit card debt. "Press 1 to speak with a friendly customer service representative". I pressed one, asked to for my number to please be taken off the list - and she promptly HUNG UP ON ME.

Received a call this afternoon. My Caller ID said "JonesLangLasall." I thought it was a legal company, so I took the call. When I answered, there was a pause and then a recording, "This is Credit Card Services..."
Apparently, "Rachel" is so embattled, Credit Card services had to find a new Trojan horse.

He offered to lower my interest rate and knew the first 6 digits of my card number. I was suspicious and after a little interrogation he hung up on me and when I call back there is no answer.

Please consider it your CIVIC DUTY to waste these basturds' time. Keeping them on the line as long as possible runs interference for your fellow Americans and helps minimize those who get scammed. PLUS you can have FUN in the process!

Rachel of Credit Card Services (CCS) is the FTC's enemy number one: 200,000 fricken complaints each month. Probably costs us taxpayers millions per month to process. CCS has scammed your fellow citizens out of $30 million dollars. UNCLE SAME WANTS YOU to help slow down these harassing crooks.

Here's a protocal to get you started. (NOTE: four months of not ever answering calls from numbers I didn't recognize didn't stop this nuisance. If you're getting these calls, you have been DRAFTED.) So PLEASE DO YOUR PART:

PHASE I:

1. Play along, acting like an interested prospect. Give them fictitious data, including perhaps a combination of two different credit card numbers.

2. Be patient and respectful to reel them in. Speaking fairly slowly and clearly since these scammers will hang up on you for whatever reason (if you're chewing food, if you put them on speaker phone, if there's a slightly bad connection, etc.).

3. Upon request, I give them my credit card company's real telephone number so that they can waste their time calling while I hold.

Once they've put you on hold, YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES: a) Put them on hold to keep the line open and go on with your day or, what I love ... b) Wait to deploy the protocal's second phase.

Typically they come back on the line and want to review the info I've given them.

PHASE II:

4. Sometimes I give them the same credit card info with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to call my credit card company yet a second time. They often hang up right after calling the credit card company again. HowEVER, if they're dumb enough to come back on the line (tee hee) ...

5. Then I let 'em have it (and this is the FUN part). When they say that my info didn't work, I respond, "Well maybe that's because H-O-O-O-O-N-N-N-K-K-K [from my air horn; the best $6 I ever spent] maybe you've been PRANKED! So please (now in my Cookie Monster voice) call back tomorrow if you want more bullshot. Eat shot and die, you predatory human garbage!"

Caller claims to represent several banks and if you give them information they will reduce your interest. When I asked for business information (official name on business license and address) they hung up.

Robo Message from "Card Holder Services". Did not name the credit card company that I was doing business with that they were calling on behalf of. Said that they could lower my interest rate to 6.9%. I hung up knowing that this was a telemarketer's robo-caller. I am on the do-not-call list.

Call comes from Cocoa, FL on a "Global NAPS" landline, whatever that is. Possibly generated from another country and routed through Florida.

They call from 321-978-5555 or 385-208-8809 or other numbers stating they are with "Credit Card Services" and represent 500+ banks. They get short with you if you ask too many questions and just hang up on you. When I once said I was going to look up the origin of their harassing calls the woman on the line said "Go for it, I'll wait" called me some names, insisted I would never be able to locate her and arrogantly would not hang up. I reported all these calls telephonically and online to the federal government but they either don't care or are powerless to stop this company. They indicated that they have received "thousands" of complaints regarding this company. Also doesn't matter if you're on the federally recognized "No Call List".

Need someone with knowledge of these internationally routed calls that come into our homes through a domestic patch.

I escaped from a scamming organisation, claiming to be "Credit Card Services" who called me several times with the nice promise to lower my credit card APR if I could just confirm that I was the account holder and which card to start lowering first, because they claim to work for several banks. I just needed to give them the last 12 digits of my credit card number. They claimed that they already had the full number, but were required to verify the card number. Yeah, right. Luckily I did stick to my principle that I will only give my card number if *I* call a person or organisation that I know. If I am being called out of the blue, why would I give my credit card number? During the conversation, more and more cracks appeared in their ploy and in their good manners, I felt seriously pressured and already hung up on them, only to be called back immediately but then I calmly stuck to my principle: I do not give my number when I am being called. They tried a couple more times but finally they hung up on me. The numbers they used to call me are: 410-672-7961 and 253-753-9121. Even though I could not detect an accent, I have the suspicion that "Scott" and his supervisor "Robin" were not present in the USA and if they were, then they were hiding behind a badly overloaded VoIP telephone connection, breaking up all the time. Be aware and warned for this scam

Kept both telling me and trying to determine if I had a Bank of America Visa card or any Visa with a balance over $3,000 because if I did I had a good payment record and was a good customer so they were going to lower my rate to 6% for the life of the card as long as payments were made on time. They reached. Me on my cell number. It starts with a recorded message then asks you to press 1.

I did because I am doing debt consolidation and wondered if this was related. It is not.

Person would not tell me which Visa card he was calling about and when I asked what if I had more than one Visa with a balance over 3k which one he was asking about he said both. I asked him to confirm the last 4 numbers of the acct he was calling about. He would not,but then asked me if I had one starting with 40. I was trying to get him to tell me something I could report but I ended the call at that point.

Just called "about my credit card account". Continues to say there is no problem with the account but I should call them to see about lowering my interest rate.

The phone number comes up as a Verizon number. When I asked which credit card this was for, I was not told a specific card...only that it was for all cards with Chase, Bank of America, Citicard, etc.

If you press 1 to hear your options about lowering your rate, it transfers you to India and the connection on the phone is not good.

I knew right away this was fraud, and when I pressed 9 to be connected I said "this call is being recorded for legal purposes, what is your name?" He said "Osama Bin Laden". I said "who are you working for?" He said "Alquida" (sp). I said this call.is going to be turned over to the police" he said "do it, give it to police" I said "I'm going to" he said "do it then don't tell me do it!" And then stopped speaking.g but I could hear them speaking in background. I try to call back but busy signal. This will not be tolerated.
