Scam, but absolutely PRICELESS how angry the dude gets if you tell him you're going to call your credit card company on your own. He started yelling at me in his super heavy accent "Fine!! F*** you! F*** you, then! F*** your mother!! Go f*** yourself in the a**!!! I'll stone you!!!" LMBO.

The computerized voice said they needed to speak to me on an urgent matter with my card to reduce my interest rate. I pressed the number and spoke to "Sam" who I could barely understand. He tried to talk and when I asked him who he worked for he hung up on me.

I received a call from 512-384-3919 (Texas number) stating they were with an affiliated company with Credit Services to offer me a reduction on my credit card interest rates. They wanted information from me. When I confronted them, they hung up on me. I tried to call back the number... it is a number that was disconnected in 2014. I believe the phone scam is coming in from outside of the US... perhaps India. The call is not even from 512-384-3919... but, appears as such on caller IDs... this tactic is called "echoing" a phone number. Unfortunately this type of criminal activity is becoming more prevalent. There seems to be little that our country's government or FTC or our nation's telecommunications organizations are able to do about it.

He reported that he could lower my interest rate on several credit cards. The was first indicator that he didn't work for any one credit card and that this was a third part business. I asked to be taken off his list and argued with him for over a minute saying no no no and he finally just hung up on me. It's a SCAM. Phone number says Austin, but I'm thinking India or Pakistan.
