Yes, some woman talking about a legitgation papers to serve me and going to court. I am suppose to call and discuss the matter. They will come out to my house or my office and that I have been served. It pissed me off because I don't owe this company nothing and what law firm comes out to your jouse or job to discuss something you are suppose to have done. Oh and she gave a reference nunmber. making like it's all legal, but the way she did it is BS. It is a scam, they are pay day loan collectors and it's a scare tactic which is completely illegal. They are located out of Lackawanna, NY. They are not a law firm or mediation firm they are simply a crooked collection agency. No need to worry there's nothing they can do to you and no legal courier is going to serve you with any type of paper work. Just keep reporting them eventually they will get busted. "Tom" isn't even his real name. I heard the guy that left me the threatening message call him Joel in the background and told him to add money to my account that I didn't even owe on in the first place!!

They called and said that I owed money for a loan from 2 years ago but they first had someone by the name of John Stover that called and left a very disturbing message on my answering machine at work home and cell phone that stated they were going to serve me papers at work or at home. My 10 year old daughter heard the message on our machine at home and started crying.

The man called my job, house and mom's house said he was a locator named Frank Benson, gave me some bs number to call that wasn't in service (day1). Got another call from Frank asking if I called the number I told him know and we basically went back and forth because he didn't want to give me any identifying information(day2). I hung up on him and called the number, gave them the claim number, he began asking me to verify my social, address, etc I told him his info was wrong and asked why he was calling and he gave me some poo about not being able to tell me about the claim unless I gave him identifying information so I told him not to call me anymore. Period. I am very uneasy about this as they had identifying information on me and I am not sure what to do.

The gentlemen said he was a locator, even though we are listed and haven't moved or changed jobs. He said he was going to serve him papers and that he would need to appear in court within a few days to face allegations of fraud. They then gave me this number to call and I spoke to Tom. I gave him the reference number and told me that if we did not pay the money owed to this company... never heard of them.... then my husband would be served at work or at home. I looked up Phillips and Roth Law firm and could not find it. So I called back and got the address... 1449 Ridge Road Lackawanna, NY 14218. I looked it up and no lawyers with the name Philips and Roth or Phillips and Roth was listed in the attorney data base for that area. I will keep you updated as we go through the process. My husband said it is a scare tactic scam and to ignore it. So I will let you know. Just don't know how I would have gotten a bill from someone we never heard of.

Whoever they are, they are not abiding by The Fair Trade Act. If they are a legit collection agency they are supposed to contact you by mail regarding an unpaid balance. If you speak to any of these people, inform them that you do not wish to be contacted at work, at home, or have friends and family called. Have them notify you by mail. If they are legit, they will.
