::SCAM:: DO NOT GIVE ACTUAL INFORMATION TO THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE PHISHING (FISHING) FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION TO STEAL FROM YOU. GOOD LUCK OUT THERE EVERYONE! ::SCAM::

When they call from "cardmember services" you will be prompted to press '1' to take advantage of the interest rate reduction offer.

When you press '1' a live Indian operator will get on the phone and tell you that they are able to reduce your rate. They ask how much you owe on your credit card. I made up $2,400 and told them that. They will then ask for the expiration date "to make sure your account is not expired". I made up the date of 12/2017. They will then tell you that their records indicate that your card starts with a '5' (making it a Master Card). To gauge reaction I said "no it is a 4 (visa)". The person will then confirm with you that it is a visa. They then ask for the entire card number to get your rate to the lowered amount. At that point I asked "does anyone ever actually fall for this?" The person squeaked out a tiny "yes" and hung up.

More of the "Card Services" phishing scam. When I have time, I like to press 1 and keep the scammer busy for a while by feigning interest in lowering my credit limit. They took my time, I'll waste theirs.

FRAUDULENT SCAMMERS
Called my cell phone. "heather from card services". I pressed the 1. The individual with thick accent could not tell me the relationship i had with Card Services. I asked if i had a credit card with that company. He said no and that he needed no security information. He kept asking if I were interested in saving interest. I asked to speak with someone that would be responsive and tell me what relationship the company and i had. He said "then you are not interested" and hung up.
Fraudulent scam is the only description of this outfit.

Received a call from this number this afternoon with recorded message offering lower interest rates on my credit cards. I pressed "1" as directed to speak with a representative and then shared with him some words that best not be typed here.

Will the FCC do ANYTHING to stop these scam artists from calling numbers that are included on the National Do Not Call registry? I haven't seen any evidence that filing a complaint has any effect.

SCA< - no sound - robo calls made with compliments of all elected officials, and the telecommunication and telemarketing industries. Elected officials 'cause they will not pas laws ruqurring caller ids on all callers, telecommunications 'cause allowing outbound calls only stopping public from returning callls and jamming caller lines, telemarketers for promoting such practices.

Received a call from this number and answered the phone. It was an automated message saying it was card services calling about my credit card, but it was not an emergency and there was nothing wrong with my credit card. It said to press a number (can't remember which) if I would like more information about lowering my interest rate on my credit card. I was not interested in this but wanted to be removed from their call list. I informed the guy who picked up that I was on the National Do Not Call Registry, and the guy on the other end mocked me, saying, "What's that? I've never heard of it." He said that if I wanted to be removed from their list, I should call the owner at 253-215-2351. I won't call this number because I don't want to incur long distance charges on my home phone, but I also don't want to give these guys my cell. So I am here posting about it and will file a complaint wherever I can.

Bottom line is that this company seems to be changing their messages and tactics a bit, but same robo calling and probably same scam.

This is a phishing scam. They kept calling my 13 year old's phone. There is a recording saying it is about your credit card, and getting your rates reduced. Last time they called, she handed me the phone to answer. When they asked me if I was calling about my credit card, I told them they were calling a 13 year old's phone. They didn't say a word, just hung up on me. I blocked their number.

THE BAD NEWS: Card Services calls aren't going to stop anytime soon.

THE GOOD NEWS: You can retaliate, reduce the misery, and even have some fun.

RETALIATE:

Waste these turkeys' time. Keep them on the line by acting like an interested prospect. Give them bogus data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers, scrambled Social Security digits, and a modified ZIP Code. Important: provide a credit card company's real 800 number.

After they call the credit card company, you can give them the same credit card info as before with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to make a second verification call. Or you can respond, "Guess what ... H-O-O-N-N-K-K [from a $6 air horn] you've been PRANKED! Call back tomorrow for more bullshot." Now they're the butt of your joke.

REDUCE THE MISERY:

Landlines. Enroll for the free service at nomorobo.com. Simultaneous ringing, a free feature many providers offer, enables nomorobo to receive, answer and, after one ring, automatically hang up on nuisance telephone numbers.

Cell phones. Block the number, an option that becomes available on the iPhone if you click on the "i" on the right in the list of recent calls and scroll to the bottom. Unfortunately, Card Services will keep calling from new spoofed numbers, which eventually should motivate you to retaliate.

HAVE FUN:

Turning the tables on the perpetrators with mischievous deception and the news they've been duped provides instantaneous vigilante satisfaction. Plus you serve your fellow call recipients by slowing down this evil operation's efforts to defraud them.
