Received a call claiming that the IRS was suing me and that I needed to call 2065385498. I tried calling IRS and checking their website for known scams to no avail. Fortunately, I was able to google the number to confirm it was a scam.

got a call, didn't answer, they left a message with the name "Department of the Treasury Department" My voicemail does not identify me. he left a lengthy message that there was legal action and an arrest warrant being issued to me for IRS taxes. I could barely understand him. I think from India. Called back, ton's of background noise like a call center. told them I was returning a call. Got hung up on. Called back, immediately ask for the badge number. Guy barely spoke English. Ask the second time for the badge number, he told me to shove the phone up my ass with a very broken accent. And hung up on me again. Doubt it is the IRS

Caller (on our Verizon landline) claimed that I was the subject of a lawsuit from the IRS. This is clearly baloney (the IRS starts with a letter if there is an issue or question of any kind with your return, per our experience) and we have no open issues with them.
Last, but not least, this particular scammer seems to have evaded NoMoRobo, which is concerning. That service usually squashes this type of vermin call.

Left a voicemail saying that a criminal charge was filed against me and now if I don't call them back or they don't hear from my criminal attorney then "all we can say is good luck as there is a criminal case fulid against you so before you get arrested kindly call the IRS back at 773-786-9511" This sounds like a fraudulent call too me? Has anyone else gotten this call from this number?

I received a call today from someone I could barely understand claiming to be the IRS. The IRS will not call, they will send information by mail. He said I owed back taxes and the IRS had decided to sue me. He kept asking if I had a lawyer to represent me. When I tried to get his name he told me the local sheriff would be coming to arrest me this afternoon and then hung up.

I got the same bogus message on my answering machine. Officer Nicki Johnson from IRS.
I've never received these calls before and got two different ones in the same day. Two different phone numbers. I didn't call either knowing it's a scam but decided to investigate online.
DO NOT CALL. IT'S A SCAM!!!

Robocall: computer generated voice threatened legal action if I didn't return the call. I called to get the real name of the company, but there was no answer, possibly a honeypot to confirm working numbers to sell to other spammers.
Do not call them back or you may receive even more unsolicited calls.
