Typical scam threatening arrest for a so-called action by the Treasury Department. We have received several from different numbers. I just called back and the woman with a foreign accent said they would send the sheriff to my home or work since I didn't want to give my last name. I said they should know since they called me.

This call is an attempt to intimidate you into believing you owe the US Treasury money. First of all, the US Treasury does not make threatening phone calls. You will not be threatened with court and/or judicial process in a phone call like this. No money owed a federal agency like that will be handled with a threatening phone call. Correspondence via US mail will proceed any phone call. Do not give these people any personal information (bank accounts or credit cards) if they talk to you... they will scare you with things like docket numbers and other court references. To make sure this is not a valid claim, check with your local court clerk to verify the docket number. It will not be a valid docket number. I answered a call like this and the intense pressure they put on me to settle this "debt" scared me into ALMOST giving in and paying. Thank goodness I listened to my common sense and didn't pay. When I insisted they send me a bill for whatever they said I owed, they hung up and never called again. Please be careful!

I called back the number and received a different operator with a strong indian accent. Even with my number blocked, he knew what number I was calling from. He asked for me by name. When I said it was not me, he asked for my husband who is deceased. He asked for my name and I told him I was Ida Pee. He told me to keep talking and I asked why. He said I had a sweet voice. He proceeded to tell me he wanted to give me something. I then said I was going to give him a 45 round in the head. He said it is getting long and hard. I advised that he has called the police department and we are now tracking his number. He did not like that reply.
I keep getting numerous calls from this number. And they have too much information on both my husband and I. How do I stop these calls?

Caller stated he was calling from the treasury department in Washington D.C. and said he had money for me in the thousand dollar range and I explained I am on the do not call list and please remove my name immediately and hung up. He then proceeded to call me back multiple times and started threatening to come to my house and started repeating an address and said he was coming for me and he will blow it up and then told me he was coming to my house and killing my family. I gave the phone to my husband and he asked him to talk to me and my husband refused to let him.he then asked of any last wishes of mine and if I would like to be f**** before I die? He asked my husband what way we would like to die by TNT , dynomite, or guillotine. My husband then hung the phone up and we called local authorities and our cellphone carrier. Very disturbing!

She said her badge number was 0247882 and that they were going to take out a warrant for my arrest if I didn't pay them $3,398.00 in "unpaid taxes". I had to pay before the call ended or they would send someone out to arrest me. I also couldn't call to anyone except my legal counsel because I could not make it a public matter. I hung up on them.

Called several times to leave message several times stating I owed back taxes and that I was about to be arrested. When I kept stating that I have never dome amything wrong or that I believe anything he was saying he gave me my alleged address he got it wrong. I live in Clermont,Fl. I speak spanish and this person although has an accent is not hispanic. I had acalled back the number simce they kept leaving messages a girl answered the phone and then gave the phone to him. I have filled a complaint with www.Tigta.gov for treasury fruad complaints.

Dude said he was from the Treasury Department & hanging up on him or not listening to his message would result in dire consequences. I told him he was a scammer and hung up. I immediately dialed the number back. He answered as Treasury Dept and I blasted him by telling him I was going to report his number and that he called me illegally for a phishing expedition. These people need to be stopped. I feel sorry for the people that don't realize it and actually give these guys information or money.

Aug 29, 2014 My 90 YO mother received a all this morning from (202) 750-0280 wherein the person said they were following up the call a few days ago to her from someone who claimed to be from the IRS--another scam call. The caller was asked to send a letter regarding their concern. An internet search of the # revealed many complaints about the number. A www.whitepages.com search showed that the # is from Bandwidth.com VoIP in DC.
