Recorded call from Pakistani Indian named Steve Martin claiming to be from IRS enforcement. Says a law enforcement Action has been issued against me. I returned the call and Andy Gibson answered. He told me that a bench warrant has been issued because I owe $4,850. because of an error or evasion on my part to pay my taxes in 2011. I expect them to call again with an option to pay less then full amount. Also received call from 888 398-7131 with similar scam. Next day 619 216-0527 trying to get our name. August 26,2014

The woman on my voice-mail had a thick Indian accent that was almost impossible to understand. The name she provided was not her identity. She said my name had come up in an IRS investigation, and it was urgent I call back. The IRS doesn't cold-call people. They provide their personal ID # and a case # at the very least.

Joker with a thick Indian accent called 3 times in 2 days saying he's from the Fraud Department at the IRS. Obviously reading from a script, he says if I don't call they'll be issuing a warrant for my arrest. I'm still waiting for the FBI to show up!

Rec a voice message from an IRS Officer Julie Smith asking me not to ignore the call and call them back asap.
After calling, I spoke to Robert Costum (w/deep Indian accent) who proceeded to lookup my information and then told me that they have recalculated my taxes back to 2007 claiming that I owed over $6900 is taxes.
When I asked for the documentation or case # for the IRS lawsuit against me, he said it would be downloaded to the courthouse within the hour after which, IRS agents would come to my house to serve the arrest warrant out for me.
I argued with him regarding the owed taxes and said this sounded like a scam. He started to get angry and said I could just wait to be arrested and have all of my assets seized for the next 5 years.
I told him that I would wait and would see him soon.
I then called the local police who explained to me that is one of many scams they have had reported to them.

We were just called today. Same scam.
I called several times trying to get as much information as possible. I was disconnected all times when I started asking questions. Everyone I talked to had heavy Indian accents. Wondering if the call center is not in the US.
Anyway, the claim is that there is a lean against your property filed by the IRS for $2800 in unpaid taxes for the past several years and you have two options -- they can provide you with a lawyer, or you can pay it back. It is pretty well scripted with them knowing my home address my name. All can be found on line. The operator even asked me if I intentionally withheld money on my taxes.
The furthest I got was -- I was instructed to buy government bonds as a means to pay what I owed. Then I was disconnected again.
The number is busy most of the times I tried to call. Sad because that means people are probably getting scammed for real.

"Melvin" from the "IRS" called and left a threatening message on my cell phone about a warrant for my arrest for tax evasion. I called the number back from my work phone and someone from the "IRS" answered. I stated "This is not the IRS; this is a scam!" Was then hung up on immediately.

He said that a claim would be filed with federal courts and I should call back at 888-398-7131 to find out who was suing me and exactly why. I see that other people have received the exact same call from a man with an accent so I assume it is a SCAM as I am not fraudulent on my taxes.
