"Steve Martin," who has a pronounced Indian accent, left this number for us to call him back. He said an important legal action would be executed by the US Treasury department if we didn't, and that serious action would be taken by a magistrate, judge or grand jury. "Call me back and let me help you" he said. I'm sure he means help relieve me of my money.
I realize that the Treasury Department has warned the public about this scam and that it's pretty pervasive. But it's still annoying to get repeated calls from this guy.
He's called back three more times. I've reported him to the FTC at 1-877-382-4357. They said if enough people complain about this scammer, they will investigate and take action.

Left message from Dept of Treasury and I was being indicted by a grand jury. I've ignored previous calls but today called back a number of times. All Indian accents, I spoke with 4 different men and a woman. Mostly they hang up when they realize you're onto them but 1 guy said all Americans are so stupid that it was easy to get money out of us. Please file a report with the Federal Trade Commission if you get these calls, it's easy on their website.

Tried to call number back (blocked my number) and received message that the "Magic Jack Customer" had not been assigned. #1) US Treasury (who they said they were) would not use Magic Jack! 2) The REAL US Treasury would leave a message as they would know who they were calling for. SPAMMER Probably from Ghana, Turkey, India or Pakistan, they can't pronounce the letter V it sounds like W ....

Robo-called and left a message. It's in a heavily accented voice (from India) and claims to be from the US Treasury. He wants me to call him back at 562-361-8926, otherwise I will be brought before a Magistrate Judge or a Grand Jury for a federal criminal offense.

This individual called 3xs today. the accent is a thick Spanish accent. Stated (unable to understand) that if I didn't contact them, that it was a federal offense, and I would have to go before the ' magistrate'."...what ever that is. He also began to laugh a little when he stumbled on the name 'Steve Martin'. I called the number back, but the phone rang approx.6xs and then to a dialtone.

Scammer left messages twice with Indian accent and poor English. Same message as Linda posted, with threats of federal prosecution:
"Hi. This message is intended to contact you. My name is Steve Martin and I'm calling regarding enforcement actions executed by US Treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an additional second atempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. My number is 510-355-8902. Again 510-355-8902. I advise you to corporate with us and help us to help you. Thanks."

Found the same call on my answering machine this afternoon, same message as others noted above. He called at 9 in the morning, which is 6 in the morning CA time. Willing to bet the number is spoofed.

Scam! I advise everyone who gets this type of call to call them back and let them know what you think about them :-) I think it worked for me: they have been calling with intervals for a couple of weeks now, at first I was ignoring them, then I called back, like 5 times in the row and I was very rude! calls have stopped!
